Game Day Information
Game Day
- Contestants will need to be in Bloomington ready to receive the address for the location by 8:00am the morning of the first day. Once contestants have arrived, they will be given their game bags to put their game items in. From there, we will do pre-game interviews with everyone while the group generally mingles. After we do Pre Game Interviews, contestants will choose their torches, and we will then divide into teams and do announcements. Once announcements are finished, contestants will go to their camps.
- In the case of severe weather, we will retreat to cars, and in the worst case scenario, we will drive back to town to seek shelter.
- Contestants will only be allowed to bring one bag to camp with them. This bag should be reserved for necessary items ONLY (such as head lamps, rain gear, hygiene products, personal items). Everything else MUST be kept in your cars (if you don’t have a car to store your belongings, let me know and we will store them in a locked barn on location). Contestants will park their cars near the entrance of the property, which is about a 3 minute walk from the challenge area. We are doing it this way in order to make clean-up easier at the end of the event, so only NECESSARY items are to enter the woodland area where the teams will be camping.
- Snacks (not meals) ARE allowed in our game, but you must be able to fit them in your game bag to bring them back to camp with you.
- If you want to train physically for the game, we recommend training in cardio and shoulder strength. Return to the previous page and click the “Workout Recommendations” button for more specifics. Surviving Bloomington does NOT have swimming challenges of any kind.
- We have plans to record the 2024 game, so keep that in mind when deciding if you want to play or not. If you play, you are consenting to having a “Youtube Series” made with the content from the weekend. We will, of course, respect everyone’s privacy, and our goal will NEVER be to embarrass anyone. But you will likely be on screen, especially if you make it far in the game.
